    Our exclusive Gunslinger in the Abyss Community Spoiler

    On the 8th of August 2025 the twentysixth Final Fantasy Trading Card Game installment Gunslinger in the Abyss is hitting the stores!

     

    We are proud to present to you a character which has a cold demeanor. As cold as her element.

    Background Lore.

    Anabella Rosfield is the duchess of Rosaria, wife of Elwin Rosfield and mother of Joshua and the main protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI, Clive.

    While she pays all her attention to Joshua, she neglects Clive and treats him coldly and lovelessly. She is calculating, arrogant, narcissistic and manipulative.

    After her ideology of enslaving the Bearers is rejected by her husband, Elwin, Anabella decides to betray her country and family and sides with the emperor of Sanbreque. This leads to the death of Elwin and the annexation of Rosaria.

    Playability

    Anabella gets her first iteration as a card in FFTCG. At that, she has a very simple yet strong ability. Because her element is ice, she fits in multicolour Priming-Decks just splendidly.

    Priming is a popular mechanic amongst the player base. One way to build such a Priming-Deck is to base it on mono ice. The backup [24-033R] Torgal enables the player to cast forwards with the job Dominant outside of their respective element. Another ability of Torgal is to prime those forwards with any element as a cost. Together with Anabella, this loyal companion is a solid foundation for such a deck.

    With the backup [22-021R] Emina we are able to search either Anabella or Torgal. So that card is a given as well. 

    To name some good job Dominants we have [24-032R] Jill and [24-005L] Clive. Jill's costs to be cast is reduced by 2 while controlling Torgal. When Jill enters the field, we get to choose a forward opponent controls and dull and freeze it. Should we then prime Jill to [24-024R] Shiva (XVI), we can dull and freeze another forward due to Anabella's ability. Shiva (XVI) then gets to break those two dull forwards when entering the field. As a cherry on top, the opponent has to discard a card at the end of the turn.

    Conclusion

     

    Because this set has more cards from Final Fantasy XVI to offer, and some of them have been spoiled to have the keyword Priming, there could be some more synergies to come.
