Background
Billy and his family live for and from their Chocobo ranch and its magnificent yellow birds.
His grandfather Bill runs the ranch while Billy is primarily responsible for caring and raising the Chocobos. Although his parents are away from the ranch they are the very reason Billy is so
determined to devote himself to these beloved mounts.
Billy also appears to have a rivalry with Midgar's very own Chocobo breeder Chocobo Sam. The game explores this story in greater detail providing the motivation behind Billy's determination to become the better breeder.

Playability
Billy receives his very first card in the FFTCG. As a Common you'll likely be seeing him in plenty of booster packs. But how will he perform on the tables? Are Chocobos about to make a triumphant return and steamroll like they did in the past?

Reviving the Chocobo archetype will take more than just a single card if it is to compete at Locals and tournaments. Be sure to check out our spoiler page to stay up to date with all the latest reveals.
One of the cards that significantly strengthens the deck is the new Hero [29-052H] Bartz. He gives Chocobo cards a way to return from the Break Zone to your hand. This allows Billy to freely search Chocobos from your deck knowing that if they are later broken Bartz can recover them so they can be played again. On top of that Bartz turns every attack into a potential threat by dealing 4000 damage to an opposing Forward whenever a Chocobo attacks.
Another card that has already been revealed is [29-050C] Chocobo. If Billy searches this Forward from the deck Chocobo's effect allows you to dull Billy to grant Chocobo Haste. When Chocobo then attacks you reveal the top three cards of your deck and you may add a Job Chocobo or a Card Name Chocobo to your hand. In other words Billy not only generates two Forwards but can also potentially add you an additional card in hand.
Other cards that support the deck or synergize well with Billy include [6-050C] Chocobo, [16-055C] Chocobo Sam and [25-043H] Cid Highwind. While the first two focus exclusively on supporting Chocobos Cid Highwind can potentially search Billy into your hand and later on let's you play him from your hand without paying his cost.

Conclussion
Dust off your saddle strap on a sturdy pair of boots and let's go. Chocobos are receiving new cards and they might just be what the deck needs to become a solid deck.
